Acknowledgment

The acknowledgment section may be used to express gratitude to individuals who contributed significantly to the publication of the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship. This section may also include relevant financial disclosures. Contributors who satisfy authorship requirements should not be listed in the acknowledgments.

Acknowledgment Guidelines

  • Authors should carefully assess contributions and authorship standards, particularly in multi-regional collaborations, to ensure equitable recognition of all researchers, including local collaborators.
  • Acknowledgments should be concise and should not mention anonymous referees, editors, or include unnecessary statements.
  • Financial acknowledgments should reference only those grants or funders that directly supported the work or contributed substantially to the publication.
